SPACE ACADEMY® for students in 7th-9th grade is an exciting five-night adventure that is both educational and exhilarating! The program incorporates real world applications of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education. Trainees will prepare to become the new generation of lunar explorers, with hands-on activities that place them in the role of spacecraft designers and astronauts.
Trainees experience walking on the moon in our 1/6th gravity chair and feel what it’s like to work in a frictionless environment in our Manned Maneuvering Unit. They’ll build and launch (weather permitting) a two-stage model rocket and learn teamwork and leadership at Area 51, leadership reaction course. Trainees are equipped with modern space flight knowledge and prepared to be future space leaders.
Trainees will face exciting challenges in our Space Station Mission Complex. Technically-challenging anomalies will task trainees to use all their knowledge and critical thinking skills to solve the problem and save the mission!
Young people seeking this path will explore many future career possibilities during this one week.
Space Academy begins on Sunday afternoon and graduation is on Friday morning.
