Ms. Brunet was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico. She has had a passion for art, history and languages all her life, which led her to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Theory of Art from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez. She has spent several years teaching languages, as well as doing freelance work in writing, translation and graphic design. In 2018, she completed her Master’s Degree in Ancient Mediterranean Studies from the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya in Barcelona (in conjunction with the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and Universidad de Alcalá), a multi-disciplinary program focused on a historical, anthropological and philological approach to ancient civilizations of the Mediterranean Basin. Her final Master’s project is titled The Destruction of Cultural Heritage in Croatia & Bosnia and Herzegovina, and centers on the devastation caused by the Yugoslav Wars in the 1990’s. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, photography, traveling, baking, foreign films and playing with her cats.
