En Washburn, nuestro orgullo se eleva al compartir que muchos de nuestros estudiantes de 4to a 11mo grado no solo han alcanzado, sino que han superado las medias nacionales y globales en la prueba de Inglés (English Language Usage) del NWEA MAP GROWTH. We have activated our full earthquake protocol, which included immediate evacuation from classrooms into open areas as established by our plan. Urgent Notice: Unexpected Water Outage and Early Dismissal at Washburn - September 20th
Hace 8 horas, la AAA anunció que Coto Laurel en Ponce no tendrá agua el día de hoy, miércoles 20 de septiembre. Washburn cuenta con cisternas, pero estimamos que, debido al uso de los baños, solo durarán medio día. Por esta razón, los estudiantes saldrán a las 12 pm. Si este horario le presenta un inconveniente, se excusará al estudiante que se ausente. La salud de nuestros estudiantes es nuestra prioridad y lamentamos lo sucedido. Ante el anuncio imprevisto de anoche de la AAA, no pudimos anticiparlo.

No Water in Coto Laurel: Important Announcement Regarding Today's Classes
There will be no classes today. Although earlier this week the water was interrupted during the evening or at night and was restored, this time we have faced a continuous disruption in the supply since 12 pm yesterday. While we do have cisterns that were in operation (many perhaps did not notice the water outage), they cannot guarantee a constant supply throughout the entirety of today. Furthermore, the water pressure from our cisterns is so low that it does not allow children to wash their hands effectively. Due to this situation, and considering that once the reserves run out, we would have to ask you to pick up your children, we've decided to cancel classes.
Our priority is the health and well-being of our students. Without an adequate water supply, the children are not able to wash their hands properly, increasing the risk of illnesses. Additionally, our cisterns are not designed to provide potable water to our filtered fountains, and we continue to receive extreme heat advisories.
We value and appreciate your understanding in this matter. We are deeply grateful for your cooperation and patience.
