Hurricane Maria Cancellations

Dear Washburn School Community,

Hurricane María appears to have turned into a major hurricane and is on track to directly hit Southern, Puerto Rico Wednesday. ⚠️Therefore, classes are cancelled tomorrow Tuesday, September 19th, UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. All Adult Conversational English classes at night will also be cancelled until further notice.

The latest recommendations are for people to be off the roads by 2:00 pm tomorrow Tuesday, because storm winds and rain will be arriving soon after.

All after school programs and classes are cancelled TODAY in order to give faculty and staff time to prepare their rooms and safeguard valuables. Please take home all your books 📚 and valuables 📱 from your lockers.

This has been a difficult, even history making, hurricane season. Please stay safe, follow evacuation orders, avoid driving after wind starts, and stay tuned to 550 AM Radio, our website, Instagram, Facebook, and your emails 🆘. Thank you and blessings to you all.

Sincerely,

Myrna Llull, VP B.O.D. and Washburn School Administration
