A Rising Program in Puerto Rico
Washburn Soccer enters 2025 as one of the fastest advancing school programs on the island. The structure now includes two competitive teams that represent the future and the present of Washburn athletics.
Elementary Mixed Team
Our mixed team formed by fourth to sixth graders focuses on fundamentals, discipline, and teamwork. This squad is the foundation of a long-term player development project designed to build future Eagles ready for advanced competition.

Senior Girls Team Our senior girls team, composed of seventh through twelfth graders, has quickly become a powerful force in school soccer. Their performance has positioned Washburn among the most promising girls programs in Puerto Rico.

CAPTAIN PROFILE
Amanda Quiñones Figueroa

National Team Achievement
Amanda, tenth grade, has been selected as a reserve for the Puerto Rico U-16 UNCAF National Team. Her selection reflects her growth, discipline, and impact at the national level.
Professional League Success
At fifteen years old, Amanda is already among the Top 10 goal scorers in the 2025 Puerto Rico professional league.
Just last week, she delivered a repóker with five goals in a single match, showcasing her elite scoring ability and technical skill.
Washburn Career and Leadership
• Helped build Washburn’s first senior girls soccer team in more than two decades
• Served as co-captain during the team’s Top 16 national finish

Andrea Avilés Miranda

National Team Recognition
Andrea, tenth grade, has been selected as a reserve for the Puerto Rico U-16 National Team for the UNCAF tournament. Her defensive talent and consistency earned her a spot among the island’s best young players.
Professional League Performance
At only fifteen, she has consolidated her role as a starting defender for Coamo Fútbol Club, ranking among the leaders in minutes played in the professional league.

Offensive Impact & Scoring Power

• In the debut of the Buzzer Beater tournament, she earned Player of the Game in Washburn’s only win, finishing among the Top 16
Multi-Sport Excellence
Even without being a track-and-field athlete, she has represented Washburn in LAEC cross-country and track events, winning medals for four consecutive years and earning Athlete of the Year every year since 6th grade. She also plays softball for Washburn.
