Kristi Aurich » Biography

Biography

Ms. Aurich grew up and studied across the western United States, living in Arizona, Hawaii, and Oregon before making Ponce her home. She holds a Bachelor's degree in TESOL Education from Brigham Young University Hawaii, with minors in Psychology and Music, and has tutored elementary, high school, and university students from across the U.S. and abroad.

A native English speaker, she has taught at Washburn in the past years, including Pre-K and 3rd grade as a self-contained classroom teacher and 4th grade English. She also teaches conversational English to adults through Washburn English Institute on Saturdays and weeknights.

Music is part of her classroom every day: she plays piano, ukulele, viola, and harp, and uses them to build the songs, rhythm, and language routines that help our youngest students start speaking English naturally. Outside of school, she enjoys gardening, hiking, and time with her family.
