Bio

Hello! My name is Deborah Echevarría, and I am an Upper Elementary Teacher at Washburn School. As a proud Washburn alumna, it is especially meaningful to return to the school that played such an important role in my own education. Having once walked these same hallways as a high school student, I am honored to now inspire the next generation of learners.

I earned my bachelor’s degree from the University of Puerto Rico at Ponce and have been a member of the Washburn faculty for the past three years. Throughout my teaching career, I have been dedicated to creating a classroom environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions, think critically, and develop a genuine curiosity about the world around them.

In addition to my role as an Upper Elementary Teacher, I proudly serve as the moderator of the National Elementary Honor Society (NEHS) and as a teacher in the After School Program. These roles allow me to support students beyond the classroom by promoting leadership, academic excellence, character development, and lifelong learning.

One of my greatest passions is creating fun, engaging, and hands on learning experiences that inspire curiosity and make learning meaningful. I believe every student has the potential to succeed when they are challenged, encouraged, and supported. My goal is to foster a positive learning environment where students build confidence, strengthen their critical thinking skills, and develop a lifelong love of learning.
