Bio

My name is Andrea Avilés Medina, and I was born and raised in Ponce, Puerto Rico. I am the High School History teacher and the Boys’ Volleyball Coach, and I truly enjoy having the opportunity to inspire students both in the classroom and on the court.

I earned my bachelor’s degree from University of Puerto Rico in Ponce, in Psychology and Mental Health and also completed coursework in History, which helped strengthen my passion for the subject I now teach. I later earned a master’s degree from Ponce Health Sciences University in School Psychology with a minor in Neuroscience. My educational background has given me a deeper understanding of how students learn, allowing me to create engaging and meaningful learning experiences.

I have always loved music, sports, and history, and I believe that learning should be interactive, enjoyable, and inspiring. I enjoy encouraging my students to think critically, ask questions, and challenge themselves to reach their full potential.

I consider myself a positive, enthusiastic, and approachable person who is always excited to learn something new. I love taking on new challenges, building meaningful relationships with my students, and creating an environment where everyone feels motivated to grow. It is a privilege to be part of my students’ educational journey, and I hope to inspire in them a lifelong love of learning.
