Washburn Makes History: $25,125 Raised for Cancer Patients in Ponce | First Emerald Team in Years 

PONCE, PUERTO RICO — May 2025

In a historic act of student-led generosity, Washburn School has become the first Emerald-Level Team in years to support the Sociedad Americana Contra el Cáncer de Puerto Rico – Unidad Sur, raising an incredible $25,125 to benefit cancer patients in the Ponce region.

This is more than a milestone—it’s a movement.

 Why It Matters:

• Washburn students united to lead one of the largest school-based fundraisers in southern Puerto Rico.

• Every dollar raised supports local cancer fighters and their families in Ponce.

• The impact is real. The commitment is long-term.
