Washburn Marks 22 Consecutive Years of National Honor Society Recognition
Washburn School proudly announces its 22nd consecutive year of official affiliation with the National Honor Society (NHS), a distinction that will remain in effect through June 30, 2026. This continuous recognition affirms over two decades of unwavering commitment to cultivating the core values of scholarship, leadership, service, and character in our students.
What makes this milestone even more meaningful is that Washburn is one of the very few schools in all of Southern Puerto Rico to hold active chapters at every level: the National Honor Society (high school), National Junior Honor Society (7th–8th grade), and National Elementary Honor Society. Together, these programs ensure that the development of leadership and service begins early and grows stronger year after year.
Washburn’s Junior Honor Society chapter also sets our school apart, as it is one of the only groups from the South to participate in the Puerto Rico–wide Insular Activities, which bring together honor society students from across the island on weekends. Our students are consistently present, engaged, and representing the South with pride in these rigorous, island-wide events.
For 22 years, our chapters have provided a platform where Washburn students learn to lead with integrity, serve their communities, and strive for academic excellence. This is not just a recognition of the past but also a commitment to the future: ensuring that the next generation of Eagles continue to soar as leaders in Puerto Rico and beyond.
