Bio : Mrs. Llull Quiles

Mrs. Myrna Llull Quiles is a co-founder of Washburn School and has spent more than three decades in education and language instruction. Her career began in the United States, where she worked in community health education at Kansas State University, designing and delivering bilingual programming for Hispanic and Latino families across the region. During those years she also worked in Spanish-language media and community publishing, developing an early specialization in making academic content accessible to bilingual audiences. In 1995 she co-founded a Spanish language institute in Topeka, Kansas, serving adult and youth learners throughout the Kansas and Missouri region, including immersion experiences that brought students to Puerto Rico to practice the language in context.

She returned to Puerto Rico and in 1999 co-founded Washburn English Institute, a conversational English program for children, adolescents, and adult professionals in the southern region of the island, including corporate instruction for the pharmaceutical and manufacturing sectors. In 2003, alongside her husband, the late Dr. López-Cepero, and a group of educators, she co-founded Washburn School as a private, college-preparatory, total English immersion institution, built on the conviction that students in Puerto Rico deserve an academic program that prepares them to compete for admission at universities anywhere in the world. That founding vision continues to define the school today.

Her academic background spans industrial engineering from the University of Puerto Rico, to accounting and nutritional science.
