2nd Grade Science Exam 7 Review 3/26/19

This is the review for Exam 7 which will be on April 23rd. Because I am posting this several weeks in advance, we will not be dedicating time in class to copy the review. Students should begin studying the review periodically to prepare. During the week of April 8-12, we will dedicate a day to answer questions about the review and play a review game. 

2nd Grade Class 3/26/19

This afternoon, we read pages 210-213 in our book club circle. Then, we verbally completed pages 214 and 215B together. The students then worked on these pages in handout form independently. 

2nd Grade Class 3/25/19

This afternoon, we reviewed the concepts of recycling, reusing, and reducing. Then, we read about an example of using natural resources on pages 208 and 209. We wrote about what we read and did an illustration in the notebook. 

2nd Grade Class 3/20/19

This afternoon, we reviewed pollution and then we read about how we can conserve natural resources on pages 206 and 207. We completed workbook pages 111 and 112 together and then we took notes about the 3 Rs (reduce, reuse, and recycle) in the notebook. 

2nd Grade Class 3/18/19

This afternoon, we reviewed pollution and then had a book club. I read The Lorax to them and we talked throughout the story about how pollution is involved in this book. We had a great time with this book!

2nd Grade Class 3/14/19

This afternoon, we read about how we use natural resources on pages 203 and 204. Then, we began workbook page 110 and took notes and did illustrations in the notebook. 

2nd Grade Class 3/13/19

This afternoon, we reviewed natural resources and then completed the inquiry activity on page 201. 
 
*I stapled the exam review in students notebooks who were not able to print it. 

2nd Grade Class 3/12/19

We used the class time to finish copying the exam review. Please print it at home if your child did not finish in class. 

Important!

Exam 6 will be on Tuesday, March 11th. 
The exam will cover Chapter 5 Lesson 3 and Chapter 6 Lessons 1 and 2 (pages 170-199). 
The review will be given to the students on Monday, March 11th. They will also use Monday's class to copy the review as they will be required to copy it in their notebooks in third grade. 

2nd Grade Class 3/7/19

This afternoon, we began talking about soil and the different types. We read pages 196 and 197 together and then completed workbook page 106 together. We took notes about soil in the notebook. 

2nd Grade Class 3/5/19

This morning, we reviewed rocks and minerals and talked about the rock walk they did yesterday. Then, we worked together to complete workbook pages 102, 103, and 105. Reading and writing in science will be tomorrow!

2nd Grade Class 3/1/19

This morning, we checked workbook page 100 that the students completed yesterday. Then, we read about minerals on pages 190 and 191. We completed workbook page 101 together. 

2nd Grade Class 2/28/19

This afternoon, we watched a video about different types of rocks. Then, we observed and described different types of rocks with magnifying glasses. The kids really enjoyed this. We read about rocks on pages 188 and 189 and then the students worked on the workbook page 100 independently. We will go over this tomorrow. 

2nd Grade Class 2/27/19

This afternoon, we reviewed Chapter 5 together and then the students completed a handout for points. After completion, they finished the questions we did in class yesterday. I went through the questions with each child.
