Yesterday, we reviewed food chains by reading and discussing 96-97 in the textbook. We talked about the difference between predator and prey and identified them in a food chain. 

This afternoon, the students completed a handout for points to assess their knowledge of habitats.

Yesterday, all science fair projects were returned with their grades. The grades will be uploaded to isinet this weekend. I was so impressed with the experiments and presentations. Three students were chosen from each class to present again in the school-wide presentations. The students were chosen based on their presentations and their knowledge of their experiment. This was not easy for me to choose, as all students did very well. 

 

The chosen students will need to prepare a board with all their information/pictures to bring in on November 26th. If the students had a demonstration, they may bring that in as well.

This afternoon, we reviewed how animals use their habitats. Then, we talked about food chains and how animals can eat other animals in their habitats. We finished class, by completing pages 44 and 45 in the workbook. 

This afternoon, we read pages 92-93 and completed workbook pages 41-43. 

This afternoon, we reviewed and reread page 90-91 about habitats. Students did a drawing assessment in which they picked a habitat and drew 6 animals that belong in that habitat.

On Friday, we did a partner activity to review habitats. We had a lot of fun with this!

This afternoon, we reviewed the habitats we have talked about earlier this week. Then, the students chose one and drew it in his or her notebook with animals that belong there. While they worked, I met with each student to go through his/her test. I wrote the grade in the back of the notebook. 

This afternoon, we reviewed the word habitat and then we watched videos on the many different types of habitats and how different animals can survive in them. 

This morning, we continued with the science fair experiments. 

This afternoon, we had three excellent science fair presentations. After the presentations, the students drew what they learned from the experiments. 

This afternoon, three students presented their science fair projects. They did so well! I am so proud of them! I look forward to seeing the rest of the projects this week.
