4th Grade Class 11/27/18

Yesterday, the students had their final class to work on their comic project. The completed project is due December 7th.

4th Grade Class 11/16/18

This morning, I showed my example of the comic to the class again. The students that did not finish their handout yesterday, worked on that. Students that finished, worked on their animals research and comic project. I will upload the rubric and my examples in additional posts. This project is due December 7th. We will work on it in class on Monday, November 26th. This project IS NOT expected to be done over Thanksgiving break. They will have two weeks after the break to complete it.

Science Fair Announcement

Hello everyone!

Yesterday, all science fair projects were returned with their grades. The grades will be uploaded to isinet this weekend. I was so impressed with the experiments and presentations. Three students were chosen from each class to present again in the school-wide presentations. The students were chosen based on their presentations and their knowledge of their experiment. This was not easy for me to choose, as all students did very well.

The chosen students will need to prepare a board with all their information/pictures to bring in on November 26th. If the students had a demonstration, they may bring that in as well.

Thank you for your support!

4th Grade Class 11/15/18

This morning, the students worked on their review handout. During the last fifteen minutes of the class, I passed out the research outlines and the rubric for the animal comic project. We went through each criteria on the rubric and I showed my example. Tomorrow, the students will finish their handout, work on the research outline, and possibly, begin the comic.

4th Grade Class 11/14/18

This morning, I checked for homework and the students began gathering notes about their animal. I introduced the project to them.

4th Grade Class 11/13/18

This morning, we added examples of birds, reptiles, and mammals to our notes. Then, we read about the mammal groups on page 94. Tonight, the students should print research on the two animals that they chose for their project. More information on the project will come later this week.

4th Grade Class 11/8/18

This morning, we reviewed the classes of vertebrates and the students drew these in their notebooks. While they did this, I met with each student to go over his/her test. I wrote the grade in the back of the notebooks.

4th Grade Class 11/5/18

This morning, we began the class with a video to introduce the vertebrates. Then, as a class, we sorted the animals into their vertebrate classes. We distinguished between warm blooded and cold blooded animals and discussed the fish groups on pages 90-91
