4th Grade Class 10/4/18

This morning, I checked the homework for points and returned the science fair results portion. While I met with each student, the students read pages 66-67 independently and practiced their own note-taking. I was impressed with them. We will be reviewing for exam 2 tomorrow and returning to these pages after the exam next week. 

4th Grade Class 10/3/18

This morning, we reviewed yesterday's concepts and then we read pages 64-65 and discussed germination and a plant's life cycle. The students have a classwork/homework (if it was not completed in class) assignment that I will be checking tomorrow for points. The questions are included in this file. I will not be accepting it after tomorrow. 

Class Science Fairs!

My original date for the class science fair, October 29th, is the correct date. The school calendar is incorrect. I apologize for the inconvenience. They will have extra time!

4th Grade Class 9/28/18

This morning, the students worked on the Lesson Review handout. I collected it at the end of the class period. 

4th Grade Class 9/26/18

This morning, we reviewed roots and the process of photosynthesis. Then, we finished reading page 51 and discussed the processes of transpiration and respiration. We talked about how respiration happens in our bodes as well. We watched a video to help us visualize the respiration process. 

4th Grade Class 9/25/18

This morning, we began class with a review of the previous day's content. Then, we read pages 50-51 in the book and discussed. The students took notes, and we drew a picture to show the process of photosynthesis. 

4th Grade Class 9/24/18

This morning, we read pages 48-49 in the textbook and discussed how plants get what they need. 
 
Note: An administrative decision has been made that science tests will be administered on Tuesdays; therefore, exam 2 will be October 9th, not the 10th.

4th Grade Class 9/21/18

This morning, we began Lesson 3. We read pages 46-47 and discussed the different ways plants can be classified. Then, we watched a video on plants with seeds and plants without seeds. We ended with some notes.

This post is to notify you that Exam 2 has been moved to October 10th so that the students do not have too many tests a week. Also, I reloaded the science fair due date document with the correct fair date. The classroom fair will be October 22. This does not have much effect on the other due dates. I apologize for the mistake. 

4th Grade Class 9/19/18

This morning, the students finished copying the review and used the class period to answer the questions. We will be going over it tomorrow in class. 

4th Grade Class 9/18/18

This morning, I checked the six kingdoms foldable and the red tide assignment. The students began to copy their exam 2 review. The students will be working on answering the questions tomorrow in class. Exam 2 is on September 25.
