This afternoon, we compared the processes of photosynthesis and respiration. The students helped me complete our comparison chart. Then, I showed the students my example of the project they will begin tomorrow. They will receive the project description and rubric tomorrow and have Wednesday and Thursday class to finish. The project will be due on October 10th.

This afternoon, we read page 56 and discussed the differences between respiration and photosynthesis. 

This afternoon, we reviewed our previous lesson and read pages 54-55. We discussed the importance of leaves and the details of the process of photosynthesis. 

This afternoon, we reviewed the function and structure of plants' roots. Today, we read pages 52-53 in the textbook and discussed the structure and function of plants' stems. 

This afternoon, we reviewed how plants are classified and then we read pages 50-51 and discussed the functions of the roots and stems in a plant. 

 

Note: An administrative decision has been made that science tests will be administered on Tuesdays; therefore, exam 2 will be October 9th, not the 10th.

 

Last Friday, we read and discussed pages 48-49 in the textbook, watched videos on how plants are classified and took some notes.

This afternoon, the students began copying their exam review for exam 2. The students will use class time tomorrow to answer the questions. The exam is Tuesday, September 25. I checked science fair hypotheses and the classwork assignment from yesterday.
