5th Grade Class 10/26/18

In class, yesterday, the students who had their bingo card finished (they worked on this in class Wednesday and Thursday) played bingo with me to review for exam 3. Students that had not finished, did not play and had to finish their card. On Monday, I will be collecting all the cards as they are worth 48 points.

5th Grade Class 10/24/18

This afternoon, I checked for the completed review for points as that was assigned if students did not finish in class or study hall. Then, we went over the answers. Finally, we began the activity for our review game.

5th Grade Class 10/23/18

This afternoon, the students copied the exam review. The review should be copied and answered completely by the student. I will be checking for points tomorrow.

5th Grade Class 10/22/18

This afternoon, the students wrote their science fair presentation day in the notebook and we introduced the next lesson through videos on the body systems. The students will copy their exam 3 review tomorrow in class.

5th Grade Class 10/17/18

This afternoon, I collected the invertebrate and vertebrate foldable that was assigned. This is worth 52 points. During class, the students worked on Chapter 1 Lesson 4 Review Handout. The students were allowed to use their books and notebooks for the assignment. They will have part of tomorrow's class to finish.

This afternoon, the students finished the notes from yesterday and I checked the science fair assignment. Then, the students worked on the foldabale assignment. I will collect this tomorrow for 52 points. They should follow the model that I have uploaded. Each box should contain three things about the groups, a colored drawing.

5th Grade Class 10-15-18

This afternoon, we read about vertebrates on pages 66-68 and took notes.

IMPORTANT: Regarding Photosynthesis and Respiration Project

The photosynthesis and respiration project that was due yesterday MUST be turned in tomorrow as this is 100 points and the grades are closed tomorrow. The rubric is on my page. The students had two full class periods last week to work on it. I will also upload my examples on another post. My examples should not be copied directly.

5th Grade Class 10/11/18

This afternoon, some students shared their writing from yesterday. I checked the assignment for a 15 point grade. Then, we took notes on pages 62-63 in the textbook.

5th Grade Class 10/10/18

This afternoon, the students read pages 62-63 and wrote a paragraph about sponges, a paragraph about worms, and a paragraph about cnidarians. I will be checking this for points tomorrow. While they worked, I met with each child to show them their exam 2 grade. The grade is written in the back of your child's notebook and uploaded to isinet as well.

5th Grade Class 10/9/18

I collected the science fair results and the students took exam 2 during class today.

Reminder: The Photosynthesis and Respiration comic project WITH the rubric will be collected tomorrow. If the student misplaced the rubric, it is available in last week's posts. I can't wait to see how they turn out!

This afternoon, we played a review game to review for exam 2 on Tuesday.

Photosynthesis and Respiration comics are due on Wednesday.

5th Grade Class 10/3/18

The students used the class period to work on their project. They will have tomorrow's class as well. If they do not complete in the two class periods (which I do not expect them to), then they will need to complete it at home and turn it in on October 10th along with the rubric. I uploaded the rubric in case it gets misplaced. They are really enjoying this! :)
