This afternoon, we played a review game with all the concepts we have covered so far. Then, the students drew the plant cell and the animal cell in their notebooks. 

This afternoon, we began class with a review game. We reviewed yesterday's notes. Then, as a class, we read pages 24-25 in the textbook. We discussed and took notes on the organelles that are in an animal cell. 

This afternoon, we briefly discussed the science fair. The students will receive the handouts tomorrow. We introduced our first unit by reading "Adventures in Eating" as a class. We discussed the adaptations of many animals and why they are important for the animal to survive. The students were assigned a writing activity in which they are to write a paragraph about an animal's adaptation and why it is important to the animal. The students will need to complete this for homework if they did not finish the assignment during class or during study hall. This will be the first homework grade.

This afternoon, we finished averaging our numbers from trial 1 and trial 2 of the class experiment. Tomorrow we will write our conclusion and discuss the science fair. The science fair handouts will be given later this week. 

This afternoon we completed trial 2 of our class experiment and began averaging our numbers. We will complete our averages and our conclusion together on Monday and begin talking about the science fair. 

Today we finished setting up our notebook for our class experiment. The students will be using this set up along with additional documents when they do their science fair project. We did the first trial of our experiment outside this morning. We will do our second trial and write our conclusion tomorrow. 

Today we continued to discuss the scientific method and we began setting up our notebook for our class experiment that we will be starting tomorrow. This should help the students get familiar with the process and set up that they will use for the science fair.
