This morning, the students completed a handout worth 30 points to review lesson 4 of chapter 1. There is a permission form in each child's science notebook that needs to be signed. 

My original date for the class science fair, October 29th, is the correct date. The school calendar is incorrect. I apologize for the inconvenience. They will have extra time!

Throughout the next few weeks, we will be learning about Venezuela in our classroom. On October 15th, we will have small celebration in our classroom with activities to celebrate our country. The students are permitted to wear jeans, tennis shoes, and a shirt that is the color of our country (blue, yellow, red). On this say, students are allowed to bring in a food from our country. I ask that if your child is interested in in doing this, they need to bring in the recipe by Tuesday of next week so I can approve it. Also, anything that is brought in needs to be enough for the entire class. Please let me know if you have any questions. 

This morning, we worked on activities fro grandparents' day and our Venezuela decorations. In study hall, we will be presenting the invertebrate projects. 

This morning, I collected the students' iPad and application writing assignments, and the students put the final touches on their invertebrate projects. The students that finished, began work on our Venezuelan decorations for the classroom since we are celebrating Spanish speaking countries this month. 

The students continued to work on their invertebrate projects. They are coming out great! I am so proud of their hard work. 

The students worked with their partner on their invertebrate project. They will continue to work on this tomorrow as well. They are turning out very well!

This morning, the students used the class time to work on their invertebrate projects. They will have tomorrow to work on it, and we will be presenting them on Wednesday. 

 

Note: An administrative decision has been made that science tests will be administered on Tuesdays; therefore, exam 2 will be October 9th, not the 10th.

This post is to notify you that Exam 2 has been moved to October 10th so that the students do not have too many tests a week. Also, I reloaded the science fair due date document with the correct fair date. The classroom fair will be October 22. This does not have much effect on the other due dates. I apologize for the mistake. 

This morning, the students had the entire class to answer the exam review. We will be going through the answers tomorrow. Students that finished answering the review began brainstorming for their invertebrate project.
