6th Grade Class 10/30/18

This morning, we played bingo with the students cards to review for the test next week. I collected the bingo cards for a 42 point grade.

6th Grade Class 10/29/18 (important date changes)

This morning, five students presented their science fair projects. I was so impressed with them! 
 
Note: Administration has changed Exam 3 date to Tuesday, November 6th. 
Since, I did not have anyone scheduled to present tomorrow in class, we will be playing a review game. Students MUST have their review bingo card completed for this. They had class time and study hall time last week. It is worth 42 points. 

6th Grade Class 10/24/18

This morning, I checked the students' review for points as they needed to complete what they did not complete at school at home. Then, we went over the answers. Finally, the students had a mini review quiz. This was not counted for points. 

6th Grade Class 10/22/18

This morning, the students wrote their science fair presentation day in their notebook. Then, we read and discussed pages 88-90. Tomorrow the students will begin their Exam 3 Review
 
Reminder: Field trip money and permission slips are due tomorrow. They will not be accepted late. Students that do not submit it will not be allowed to attend the trip. 

6th Grade Class 10/17/18

This morning, we introduced Chapter 2 by observing and drawing different slides of cells. We discussed what kind of cells they were and then discussed their function and which part of the body they are located. We read pages 86-87 and discussed the discovery of cells. Then, we had some great discussions about the importance of cells in the body and how they make up tissues which make up organs in our bodies.  

6th Grade Class 10/16/18

This morning, the students worked on Chapter 1 Lesson 5 and Chapter 1 cumulative assessment handout. This is worth 50 points. I also checked the science fair assignment. 
 
Reminder: Field Trip form and payment are due on October 23rd. 

6th Grade Class 10-15-18

This morning, we spent our class time celebrating Venezuela. Thank you so much to those that sent in the wonderful desserts!

6th Grade Class 10/12/18

This morning, we read pages 74-76 and we discussed the behaviors of animals. 
 
Reminders: Field trip forms and payments are due October 23 and on Monday morning we are celebrating Venezuela. The students can wear jeans with a shirt the color of our country (blue, red, or yellow).

6th Grade Class 10/11/18

This morning, the students shared their assignments yesterday and we discussed their reading. Then, we took notes from pages 72-73 of the textbook. I checked the students classwork/homework from yesterday for a 20 point value. 

6th Grade Class 10/10/18

This morning, the students read pages 72-73 in the textbook and they wrote one paragraph on what they learned and another paragraph about an animal and how it adapts. This will be checked tomorrow for points.  While they worked, I wrote the exam 2 grades in the back of their notebooks. I have also uploaded the grades onto isinet.  

6th Grade Class 10/9/18

I collected the science fair results, and the students took Exam 2 today in class.

6th Grade Class 10/4/18

Today we had a great grandparents' day! I was happy to meet many of the students' grandparents. I am so thankful for all they do!
