5th Grade Social Studies Class 8/13/19
This morning, we reviewed the words landscape, relief, and mogotes. Then, we read about the internal and external forces that affect relief and landscape on pages 7-9. After discussing and having students write the forces on the board, we read about the formation of the Chiloé Archipelago on pages 2 and 3 of the workbook. We completed the comprehension questions together. We focused on answering in complete sentences using the question in the answer.
Answers to workbook page 3:
1. According to the legend, the Chiloé Archipelago formed because of the conflict or battle between the sea goddess and the land goddess.
2. Legends are useful because they help humans understand and explain the world around them and attract people to visit the place.
3. An archipelago is a group of islands joined together.
