This morning, we read pages 90-91 and discussed different habitats. Then, we watched a movie and compared the different habitats of animals. 

This afternoon, I stapled the exam 3 review into each child's notebook. We observed and read pages 76-79. It was a great review for the students. Then, we looked at the picture on page 83 and talked about it to introduce out new unit. We finished the class by completing workbook page 38. 

This afternoon, the students worked on copying the Exam 3 Review. I will have the print out for them tomorrow. 

This afternoon, the students completed a review handout for points and I wrote their science fair presentation date in the notebook. 

This afternoon, we looked at images of animals and talked about where their eyes are placed. We compared them to where our eyes are. We discussed why this is. Then, we reviewed animal adaptations.  To continue reviewing, we completed workbook page 34 together. Then, the students worked with a  partner to complete page 35 in the workbook. If this was not finished in class, they should finish it at home. 

This afternoon, we reviewed adaptations and camouflage and we did the animal drawings from pages 70-71. Then, the students completed workbook page 29. 

This afternoon, students finished their review foldable and then independently worked on page 28 in the workbook. While they worked, I met with each child to write their exam 2 grade in the back of the notebook. 

This afternoon, the students worked on a review foldable that they will finish tomorrow. While they did this, I met with each child individually to work on finishing the exam from yesterday. The exam grades have been posted on isinet. 

I collected the science fair results and the students took exam 2 in class today. We were not able to finish it completely, and I did not want to rush them, so we will continue tomorrow. 

This afternoon, we reviewed the life cycle of a butterfly and watched a video about it. Students that did not finish the assignment that the students worked on during class on September 26, used the class to complete that. 

This afternoon, we viewed a video about mammals, insects, and camouflage. We read pages 66-67 about the butterfly life cycle and then we drew this in our notebook. 

This afternoon, the students completed a review handout as I read each question aloud to them. Then, they completed a drawing as an assessment. 

This afternoon, the kids were given the opportunity to draw different animals under the correct category (mammal, reptile, bird, amphibian, or fish) on the board. Then, to continue to review, they played a game with partners. The kids had a lot of fun with this. Tomorrow, they will complete a handout to review the groups of animals and each group's characteristics.
