This morning, we began class with our review game. Then, we discussed that cells are the building blocks of all life. We read page 26 in the textbook and took notes from that page. After taking the notes, the students worked on workbook page 6 independently. I collected this for a classwork grade. If the student did not finish this in class, they will need to finish it for homework. 

This morning we discussed the science fair. The students will receive the handouts tomorrow in class. We introduced our first unit by reading the poem on page 17 of the textbook. We talked about how living things change over time. We specifically talked about how we, as humans, have changed and will continue to change. After our discussion, the students began the write about it activity on page 1 of their workbook. They were given class time and will have study hall to complete the activity. If they do not complete it, they will need to complete for homework. This will serve as the first homework grade. 

This morning we completed our second trial of the class experiment. The students then determined whether or not their hypothesis was correct. Based on that information, we/they developed their conclusion paragraph. We will continue to talk about the science fair tomorrow, and they will receive their handouts later this week. 

This morning we completed our first trial of our class experiment. The students are testing which exercise will make their heart rate increase the most. We will complete our second trial and begin our conclusion on Monday. 

Today in class we finished setting up our notebook to conduct our experiment. The students will be using this method for their science fair project. We will conduct the first trial of our class experiment tomorrow morning. 

Today we continued to discuss the scientific method and we began setting up our notebook for our class experiment that we will be starting tomorrow. This should help the students get familiar with the process and set up that they will use for the science fair.
