3rd Grade Class 9/28/18

During class today, a small group of students worked not the assignment we began yesterday to finish today. It was collected at the end of class. The students that finished, reviewed the vertebrate groups with me and we began reading about plants. 

3rd Grade Class 9/27/18

This morning, the students worked on the Chapter 1 Review in the textbook. They will have the first ten minutes of class tomorrow to finish if they did not finish today. I will being giving points for the assignment. 

3rd Grade Class 9/26/18

This morning, we completed pages 17-18 in the workbook together to review. Then, we read pages 62-63 in the textbook. We completed the math in science concepts in the notebook. 

4th Grade Class 9/25/18

This morning, we began class with a review of the previous day's content. Then, we read pages 50-51 in the book and discussed. The students took notes, and we drew a picture to show the process of photosynthesis. 

3rd Grade Class 9/25/18

I collected the vertebrate and invertebrate foldable and the students completed a handout in class for points. 

3rd Grade Science 9/24/18

This morning, the students worked on a foldable to review the vertebrates and invertebrates. If the student did not finish during the class period, they will need to finish for homework. I will be collecting this tomorrow for points. 
 
Note: An administrative decision has been made that science tests will be administered on Tuesdays; therefore, exam 2 will be October 9th, not the 10th.

3rd Grade Class 9/21/18

This morning, we reviewed the vertebrate groups we discussed yesterday and then read page 60 about Mammals. We took notes on all five groups. We ended class discussing their animal projects. The students received their project description, grading rubric and handouts. The project is due October 8th. I will post the description/rubric in the next post.

3rd Grade Class 9/20/18

This morning, we discussed the date change of the test and the animal project that they will receive tomorrow. We read pages 58-59 in the textbook about the different groups of vertebrates. Then, we completed workbook page 20 together. We ended class with videos about each of there groups.

This post is to notify you that Exam 2 has been moved to October 10th so that the students do not have too many tests a week. Also, I reloaded the science fair due date document with the correct fair date. The classroom fair will be October 22. This does not have much effect on the other due dates. I apologize for the mistake. 

3rd Grade Class 9/18/18

This morning, I checked the science fair materials and procedures. The students were given a print out of the exam 2 review that they worked on answering throughout the class. They will continue to work it tomorrow, and we will begin to go over the answers half way through the class. Exam 2 is September 25. 

3rd Grade Class 9/17/18

This morning, we reviewed the difference between vertebrates and invertebrates. As a class, we read pages 56-57 and learned about the groups of invertebrates. We completed workbook page 19 together and took notes. 

3rd Grade Class 9/13/18

This morning, the students were given the first 20 minutes of class to complete their drawing activity from yesterday. After this time, I collected the drawings. This will be a classwork grade. For the remainder of the class, we looked at page 51 in the book and practiced classifying animals into different groups based on their traits. This activity was to introduce the next lesson.
