3rd Grade Class 3/29/19

This morning, we completed our mineral activity and we discussed that minerals have different hardnesses. We watched videos about diamonds and then wrote sentences in our notebook about our learning. 

3rd Grade Class 3/28/19

This morning, we began the class with a video to review erosion and also to introduce or new unit on rocks and minerals. Then, we began the inquiry activity on page 227. We will continue with this tomorrow. The students really enjoyed it!

3rd Grade Science Exam 7 Review 3/26/19

This is the review for Exam 7 which will be on April 23rd. Because I am posting this several weeks in advance, we will not be dedicating time in class to COMPLETE the review. Students should work on completing the review little by little at home. I will be posting the answers next week. During the week of April 8-12, we will dedicate a day to answer questions about the review and play a review game. 

3rd Grade Class 3/26/19

This morning, we checked workbook pages 96, 99, and 100. We also reviewed what students wrote on their post it notes. We read about weathering on statues in Greece on page 220. Then, we worked on workbook page 97 and 98 to draft a paragraph. 

3rd Grade Class 3/25/19

This morning, we began class with a reflection on Exam 6. Then, we reviewed weathering and erosion and began talking about how people change land. We read page 218. Then, students worked on the following workbook pages: 94, 95, 96, 99, and 100. We checked 94 and 95 and will check the remaining tomorrow. 

3rd Grade Class 3/20/19

This morning, we reviewed weathering and then we began our lesson on erosion. We read and discussed pages 215 and 216. We completed workbook pages 93 and part of 94, then we took notes on this content. 

3rd Grade Class 3/13/19

This morning, we had a class book club. We focused on the scientific topic of floods. For reading and writing, we focused on the text features of nonfiction books and then answering comprehension questions in complete sentences using the question in the answer. We had a very good book club. We enjoyed reading and learning together!

Important!

Exam 6 will be on Tuesday, March 11th.
The exam will cover Chapter Chapter 4 Lesson 3 and Chapter 5 Lessons 1 and 2 (pages 172-209).
The exam review will be given on Monday, March 11th. We will use Monday and Tuesday in class to work on the review. 

3rd Grade Class 3/7/19

This morning, we checked workbook pages 84 and 85. Then, we completed workbook pages 86 together to review the ocean features. We moved to lesson 2 and read about earthquakes on pages 204 and 205. We discussed the quick check questions and took notes on these pages. 

3rd Grade Class 3/5/19

This morning, we made landforms out of clay and wrote sentences about them. A fun review!
