3rd Grade Class 2/28/19

This morning, I stapled each student's assignment grades in the back of his or her notebook. They read pages 192-193 and completed workbook page 83 numbers 1-5. I stapled each child's semester 2 assignment grades in the back of his or her notebook and they went through their assignments. 

3rd Grade Class 2/27/19

This morning, we introduced Unit C with the magazine article on pages 186 and 187. We read the article together and discussed what we know about Antarctica. Then, we did some research on Australia. We did some brainstorming about our imaginary trip there. Then, we worked together to write about our imaginary trip on workbook page 81. 

2nd Grade Class 2/26/19

This afternoon, we completed workbook page 97 together. Then, we read the review story on pages 187-181 after making observations of the images. After completing the story, students copied and answered the following questions in complete sentences in their notebooks. Those that did not finish in class should finish at home. 
 
1. Where can you find salt water?
2. How does Earth change slowly?
3. How does Earth change quickly?

3rd Grade Class 2/26/19

This morning, the students used the class time to complete the Chapter 4 handout for points. 

3rd Grade Class 2/25/19

This morning, we read pages 180 and 181 together. We talked about the difference between facts and opinions. We pointed these out as we read. After reading, we completed the workbook pages 77 and 78 to practice identifying and writing about facts and opinions. We reviewed this lesson by completing workbook pages 79 and 80. 

3rd Grade Class 2/21/19

This morning, we used the clay/play-doh to complete the quick lab activity on page 177. Then, we read and discussed a book about fossils. 
 
*Exam grades are on isinet.

3rd Grade Class 2/19/19

This morning, we reviewed fossils. Then, we read pages 176-177 and discussed why scientists study fossils. We completed workbook pages 73 and 74. 
 
*Exam 5 is tomorrow. 
 
* If possible, for Thursday's class, the students should have clay or play-doh for an activity. 

3rd Grade Class 2/14/19

This morning, we read a persuasive writing why we should protect the koalas, an endangered species. Then, we we reviewed our last lesson by completing the workbook pages 69-70. Then, we worked together on page 71 after doing some research about the mountain gorillas in Africa.
